You don't see my pain
your eyes are blind
from your ignorance

all the love you use to show me is all gone now
nothing but a dream now
that will never exist again

you use to be there for me everytime I cried
you use to be the one who was always by my side
you use to call me your best friend

everything about you has changed
you act different around me now
and hang out with different people too

two new best friends in your life now
two who have replaced me
and taken my spot in your life

now I only feel like a burden to you
and that you don't want me around
and you wonder why I'm with new friends

I'm not going to stick around forever
I will want to be with people
who actually care for me

So it is up to you
do you really want to have my friendship forever
do you really want to keep your best friend
who's known you the longest
and has treated you the best out of everyone else

If you want my friendship
treat it right
because it's not just another game
it's real life

My emotions arn't meant to be played with
there meant to be cared for
the same way you use to care for me

Sometimes that little saying BFF is never what it seems. Friends come and go... just like a boy/girlfriend will. This usually hurts more to lose a friend. Good poem... good luck in your sitch if it's about you!

the cruel politics of high school often do the segregating that we never want to happen. and most of the time, people are to scared to step outside of their boundaries, and against the flow of their clique, just to meet someone new or make a friendship work. i think, if this is at all autobiographical, you should let your friend read this. leave it in his/her locker or on their car.

great work here. well penned thoughts.

I agree, you should give this to them.  It's a great poem about a tough subject. I think you've written about it well

Thanks guys, I'm really glad you all liked this poem. It is to do with a friend of mine, it's just that I'm afraid that if I give this poem to her she will get mad at me. But the last time I let her know how I was feeling, which was the same kinda subject, she cried. So I don't know what I will do yet, but I will think about how I'm going to approach her about it. Thanks guys for your replies and concerns. smiles poe

I think that this problem is quite cliché these days. Obviously I am not putting yours down and categorizing it into this sub-group of problems in accordance to our teenage fantasias. I hope you find some sort of positive aid within your problem and prevail.

Do I know how you feel or what?!?! The only difference is that I am losing my best friend to her boyfriend that lives with her...ouch! He shouldn't even be living with her! She's only 16, and yet her mom allows it. Oh wellers, she'll be  back when he breaks her heart (again). Best of luck to you and your friend! I hopw it all works out.
