Sentiments of the lonely:

The time it takes to fall asleep.
I wonder, do you ever really know for sure?
That dreaming state between asleep and awake,
A lifetime can pass in a matter of seconds.

The thoughts that creep into your mind
when your alone, and only natures voice to hear.
Sheer peace it brings to a stubborn heart.
A gentle breeze, or even a mosquito bite.
It all amazes me.

As sunlight warms accross your back
drifting off to sleep.
The dreams and thoughts when your alone
Behold the sentiments that make us human.

Beautiful! Very nicely writ.....I would never ever trade that feeling. Solitude is just one thing that we all need, but we seem to mistake it every so often.

Thought provoking indeed.  Ouch, my poor head.

“Maybe we were once so human, but if we cry, we will rise!”

That’s from some Manson song, does really have anything to do with your poem, but its what’s on right now.

Solitude is like those Flintstone vitamins.  Too many of them turn you funny colors…
Nice work (Singing) lallablah banana.

Once again you've left your mark upon writing.  You have such a unique "dreamlike awe" flow and imagery...I love it.

WoW, Jason! (Jac) This is wonderful! My two favorite types of poetry are thought provoking and funny. You are a master at both! This one leaves me feeling mystical. It's wierd, like I know exactly what you're talking about yet it still seems so mysterious. Okay, enough of my rambling. You rock! (oh yeah, I already told everyone about your GI-Joes.....sorry)

I love these thoughts and questions Jason, leaves my mind spinning sometimes when I get on this tangent in my own mind. Great read!
