We had a remarkable friendship
Born a day apart from each other
We were like twins from the start,
Doing everything together
People observed our closeness
And predicted our marriage
But we would laugh at the idea,
Grimacing at the thought of us kissing

We were eleven when things started to change
I didn't want to play with you anymore
'Cause I started to get shy
I wasn't really sure why
Then we both went off to high school
And we met less frequently
From twice daily to twice weekly
From twice weekly to twice monthly
And the rare chances we were together
We never had anything to say
You would just look at me
And I would look out the window.

It was then that I realised
That we had nothing in common
Yet we held onto our friendship
For the sake of our memories
How was I to know what you were thinking?

The day you left I was sad
Sad that we weren't able to remain close
But you were more like my brother than anything else
So it's no wonder I was shocked
When you told me how you felt
How was I supposed to react?
I never knew
For 6 years you said
And I wasn't able to guess it.

Now I don't know what to do
Cause I don't feel the same way
Yet I don't want to lose this friendship
It used to mean a great deal to me
But I think we will lose it
Nothing will be the same now
You said you felt better for letting me know
But I wish you had never told me
And I almost hate you for it

I keep hoping this is some sort of a joke
But I know that it isn't
I'm thankful you're in another country
So I wouldn't have to face you
'cause I pity you
What else can you do when your best friend says he's in love with you?

awwh whoa. thats a very good poem.
i know sometimes when i'm becoming really good friends with a guy and then they spring it on me that they have feelings more than just friends it really does change everything.
I lost one of my best friends pretty much because his feelings grew more than mine were willing too.
Its a pretty tough situation to be in. I guess for you in some ways it is good that they have moved to another country.
But i can bet that you miss them... right??

anyway, sorry my reply was so long!

When I met you
I liked you
When I liked you
I kissed you
When I kissed you
I loved you
When I loved you
I lost you

I had a best friend that was really special to me...He was close to me for 3 years...Then he went into the army...I havent seen him in like a year...But the first time he told me he loved me you know what I said???I told him I love you right back...He was more then a friend...He was my best friend...Someone I could tell anything and everything to...Maybe this guy just grew so attached to you...And he just wanted to tell you how he felt about you...Well I give that guy props cause guys dont usually come out and share there feelings...And with you...Oh well thats the past now right???So move on dont live in the past...Guys cant have everything that they want...This was really good...I cant wait to see more of your work!!!
