*Well this is a true story, it happened to me last wednesday.

~Saving You~

I awoke to the phone
at 2 in the morning.
Who in the heck is this,
waking me up by calling.

I jolted from my sleep
as your tears sounded on the line.
I ask whats wrong but you wouldnt stop,
i knew this was a bad sign.

You said you couldn't take it,
and you wanted to end it all.
I started to panic,
when you said you swallowed 45 tylenol.

MY heart stopped beating,
for a second frozen in time
I can't lose you,
you're such a great friend of mine.

I rushed over to your house,
to find you laying on the floor.
i scooped you up in my arms,
and bolted for the door.

Dear God, this can't be happening
not to me
We're just teenagers
can't you see?

As i sit in the emergency room
I pray you're okay
You mean the world to me,
I can't lose you like this today.

The nurse comes out
and says you made it through.
A sigh of relief cause we'll get thro this,
because i love you.

Your friend are very fortunate to have a friend like you, I hope she knows this now, and will find her reason for living in that friendship.

Great poem, keep i up.

Waves...amazing hey? Wind blowing over smoothe ocean water creates shear. The longer the wind blows, and the futher the fetch, the more energy gets transferred from the wind to the water. What started off as a breeze 1 000km away, ends up as a glass-faced barrel at some far off beach.

I'm sorry this had to happen.  Your friend is lucky that you care so much.  It's amazing how tragedies often can make good poems.   It was a nice poem

This is heart-wrenching DancinQueen, and must have been so terribly difficult for you. I'm so sorry your friend felt unable to cope, but so grateful that she reached out to you before it was too late.  Often when someone feels desparate, they focus on the negative aspects and forget that they have friends and family that care so deeply for them. I would urge anyone in these times, to reach out to friends and family "before" they reach this point. Your friend is indeed fortunate to have such compassion in you.

My heart and prayers go out to you both,
/Kit

Very powerful words here, Dancin Queen.  This happens all too often these days...it was a wonderful thing that your friend turned to you for help, however.  Exellent poem, keep up the great work!

you must mean a lot to this person too.  Imagine, in his/her darkest moments, she calls you.  At the same time, he/she is lucky to have someone like you who really cares.
