You once told me I was beautiful
I never believed you
You look at me now
I look so new

You still tell me I am beautiful
I don't believe you now
They don't tell me I'm beautiful
I believe them, you ask how

Beauty
I still long to possess
For a day, a week
Even less

You say the real beauty
Is what's inside
Well where
Where does my beauty hide

I want to be beautiful on the outside
I want them to see it when they look at me
I want to cover up the hurt
So beauty is what they see

It's usless to tell me I am beautiful
Because I know I don't look like they do
And unless I do
I'm not gonna believe you

I honestly just don't believe you
When you stand there and say "wow"
It hurts when you tell me it's true
So please, please don't tell me I'm so beautiful now

why wouldnt you want someone to tell you your beautiful??? you shouldnt think like that girl...change your attitude...this was a good poem...except for all the negativity...

Oh Isabel ... I can feel the confusion in this beautiful poem.   I was very shy in younger years, but have learned that the most wonderful thing to say to a lovely compliment like this, is simply "thank you" ... for beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and genuine compliments like this are treasures.

Best wishes,
/Kit

This must sound really corny....like a Barney sort of thing, but I still believe that true beauty lies beaneth and that no matter how much you're affected by your outside apperence you gotta remember that not only do people judge you by what you look like, they should judge you by who you are. So if he says your beautiful, he's saying it from his heart. Because beauty is not only what you look like and he knows it.

Wow~ I really liked this poem alot. And i can relate soo much to it. But YOU have to believe in yourself before you'll believe anyone else. Its a hard thing to do, but once you do you'll regret having spent all that time not believing in yourself. Time's the only medicine for something like this..keep up the great work*

oh Bel, while I can not say I know exactly how you feel, Sometimes I no longer want to hear that I am beautiful either. I feel so overwhelmed by it all. Sometimes I think that people say it only because they feel obligated. It bothers me and makes me very upset to hear it ALL the time. But at the same time, I wouldn't have come to know my career that I do now if I wouldn't have heard it all the time. I just wish that you could see that your true beauty lies within your heart not within the make-up you wear or the food that you sometimes pass up. I know it's such a cliche but just remember that it does hold true. Keep  your head up my dear!!! you know my e-mail...if you need.
