This is a poem i wrote about learning to love and accept yourself. hope ya like it

Loving me

I was so lonely,
I felt so left out,
My life was so dismal,
And full of doubt.
I hated myself
For not being like them,
I was the dark black stone
Amongst the sparkling gems.
Why am I so different?
Why don't I fit in?
All these question
Made my head spin.
But then one day he walked into my life,
And told me someday
I would make a beautiful wife.
He opened up to me,
And I wish I could have done the same,
Because if he walked out the door,
Only I was to blame.
He complimented me
'Til the daylight could no longer dim,
But the glorious day
Was when I believed him.
"I am funny, kind, and beautiful"
I screamed,
He turned me into the person
I had always dreamed.
Then one spectacular morning I picked
My self-confidence up off that little dusty shelf.
For I had finally realized, in order for
Them to love me, I must first love myself.

Very well put sweetstuff! So inspiring, I think that I'll take your advice and instead of hurting and feeling bad, I'll love myself and maybe one day I'll find love...if not, that's ok too. It would be nice though eh? Keep up the wonderful work!   Love Always~*~Jessica~*~

great poem....i totally believe in what you've written because I've felt like that myself and it's great to know that we all can regain ourselves.

Now this is my favorite amongst your poems so far.  The rhyming scheme is excellent and the change in style in the end is different.  Excellent work!!!  Great message to all too.  keep it up. I'm glad you feel that way about yourself now too

I really like this poem. I can relate to it. I felt the same way about myself because I thought no one liked me. i thought it was just me , but it wasn't. I realized that now. This poem is great!

The message of this poem was positive and it was well depicted. Good job!
