I hope this serves two purposes:
1. Meet Lone Wolf's "Expand your horizons" challenge and
2. More importantly, to make new friends...

....... I hope you like what you see .......

I miss being a teen again!

Ten years and a few months ago,
I was just like any other teen,
Pompous like a king, filled with ego
Proud like a frog, as never before been.

I lived in my own little well,
My family and my dear friends
seemed to live there as well.
As I picked on each new trend

Across the bends smoothly caressed
I drove my bicycle in a flurry
Like one seemingly possessed,
In my hurry I forgot to worry.

I still had to get up early, to get to school,
That used to be the biggest crib,
But to avoid the homework, break some rule,
I managed to think of a fib.

But that was all fun, pure joy,
Until running around the journey's bend
I caught cruel Mister Killjoy,
Who willingly hurt my carefree trend

The results were announced then
And surprisingly I'd failed to flunk,
Ah! Joy felt first and later pains,
I'd now to become a manly chunk.

Earn my bread, pick my strings,
Even had to cook and feed myself,
But still when my phone rings,
I hope it’s a date for this proud self.

Oh! I miss being a teen again!
Oh! I miss being a teen again!
I strive to be a teen in my mind
And leave all my worries behind.

~

Sometimes being a teen is great...but sometimes I wanna go screaming back to childhood or into adult hood, lol!  awesome poetry here, I liked it a lot!

A challenge well met, my friend!!  I like this one a lot.  You have taken me back with you.  I bet you make a ton of new friends with this piece.

Thanks for taking the challenge!!

Hey Sudhir, it was only two short years ago that I enjoyed teenageness.(wrd?)  Why do you think I am in here.  I can't stand the fact that I am growing old.  Besides, I still think and act like a teenager.  Anyway, great poem and don't stay a stranger to us.

Sudhir,

In a few short months I will turn 20 and will no longer be able to call myself a teen.  Will I still hang out in this forum?... Probably.  You are only as old as you feel.  of course your shoulders carry more wieght as you get older but there's nothing in this world worth getting you down.  Live life to it's fullest and worry free and thing s will always work out (at least I hope so)

Sudhir!  Well hello my friend ... I've been a little behind in my reading, so I apologize for the delay ... but I am soooo glad to see you here!

To be a teen again, I'll join you in these wishful thoughts. If I could travel back in time, I would be there too!  Wonderful poem!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Kit,
Thanks a lot... the delay was unnoticeable...

I am glad you felt with the theme of this one... I am sure will be here more often... being here is symbolic of being a teen again, it may seem....
