I'm sorry I am not what you want me to be.
I'm sorry I cannot help you.
I'm sorry this is hurting you...
I ache far more than you can imagine.

I apologize for crushing your dreams...
And for chaining your soul.
I wish things could change,
Somethings never will.

I regret not being happier,
And for not telling you what I wanted.
I'm sorry that we cannot be friends,
I wish we were less of enemies.

Don't hate me,
For I know not what I do.
Please forgive me...
I'm scared and confused.

Jenn,
I don't know what this is about, but never be sorry for being you. Beautiful poem. very heartfelt. Thank you for allowing us to read it.

This is undoubtedly one of my favorite poems from the forums. It is fabulous. It's so simply put, yet incredibly universal and meaningful. I love it!

Jenn~
This was a really good piece by you...But I dont remember seeing it back then when you posted it...So sorry about being a little bit late...I honestly wouldnt want a guy to change for me...Even if he was the way I wanted him to be...That means that he would just be a fake or like my little puppet...I would want someone that is gonna be themselves...You know what I mean???And I have to agree with Thomas dont be sorry for being who you are...Be glad that you are who you are and not someone else...Not a fake!!!Thanks for sharing this!!!

You can't always be what someone else wants. At the time that I wrote this... I had felt like I wasn't trying hard enough... it wasn't like I wasn't the person he wanted me to be... it's just my emotional level never quite matched his, and I felt kinda bad. Now, looking back, he did try and rush me, and I can't change what I'm not ready for! Thanks for the reply!

Thanks dopey... but I hope that wasn't one of those generic replies I keep hearing about. I'd seriously prefer no reply than a generic..."good work" Okay?
But if it wasn't generic, thank you for the compliment.

This is one of the best one I've read of yours so far.  You have this ability to show your inner most emotions thru your writing.  keep it up and keep ya head up
