bpm=90 swing

I feel like an old man
trapped in a young man's body.

From the other old men,
no respect.
"Young kid," they say.
"Still got a lot to learn,"
they say.

Those old fools,
don't you see,
that I am,
that we ar,e
the next generation!

I arrive to unseat you,
By my magnificent acheivements.
We, the new generation,
now has a vote.
We will shake
your very foundations,
and reder you obsolete,

Because…
our time is at hand.
and you can only respond…
"Young kids,"
"still got a lot to learn."

I wil show you that you're wrong
old friends,
That your days in power are at their end.

And so continues the cycle…
Are children will be born,
and we will tell them,
"Young kids,"
"Still got a lot to learn."

very well spoken emotions. it's actually kind of scary that we are now in charge. trust me, i've seen the populus on mtv and at school, and to think that all of US are in charge...*shudder*. maybe some of us are ready *i'm not! i'm not!*.
this poem remined me of "old age sticks" by e.e. cummings. it's like the corollary to it. very nicely done.

We all got our demons.
We all got somethin' to atone for.

The thoughts were really well put together.  I liked it.  Keep up the good work.

You speak with such beauty and truth, my friend. Hopefully, our generation will remember how we were treated, and treat our children better...

Very nice, alot of emotion.  I like that in a poem.  sometimes I think that youth is wasted on the young, and wisdom is wasted on the old.  My friend Jeremy Halsted told me that once.  Well any way liked the poem, keep up the good work.

Ethan: I haven't read that poem, but I'm honored to be compaired to him. I think those that are ready will come to power, and those not ready now, won't. They'll be the followers
Chel, Lovebug: thanks a lot, i'm glad you like the poem. I don't think we'll end up treating our chilren any better, just one of life's little tragedies.
Jacman: I'm sorry, I can'tagree with Jeremy, those young at heart will be young forever. Wise old people were also wise at a young age.

Thank you all

TIMES ARE CHANGING...AND WHAT THESE OLDER PEOPLE ARE THINKING...WHO KNOWS...BECAUSE WE ARE THE FUTURE...WE ALL KNOW IT...THE FUTURE OF THE WORLD DEPENDS ON US...WE ARE THE ONES THAT ARE GONNA KEEP THE POPULATION ALIVE...

Thanks Erin for responding. I agree, times are changing. The new generations, will always be the ones that carry society.
