Walking down this dark corridor
Sweat clings to the bottom of my palms
As I run them against these damp walls
Attempting in vain to rid these vicisous calls
Echoing from the depths of my soul
Blood trickles from long forgotten scars
Healed over in time, yet gashed open once again
Each time the shadows mention his name
I want to find my light at the end of this torturious tunnel
No longer do I want to run aimlessly alone and cold in the dark
I want to run to the pulsating warmth found in this unknown creature that stands before me
And feel it's skin beneath my finger tips
That would surely purge my soul from ill forgotten tainted bliss

Yet I can not seem to reach it
It's twisting me down a spiral of vain attempts
Wanting and needing to be near the light
Cooling and burning my skin with unaqquitted desires
Embraced by hopelessness I stare
At something that has always been there
Not being able to touch, nor hold
Something always holding me back
Always keeping me on this same track...

Hey kid...You started reading me this poem, but I don't think you had it finished then.  As always, I adore it.  I so incredibly, sincerely hope you find all your looking for.  I know you will, but I hope the wait is not too long.  Just get out there and grab that perfect bull by the horns and be cool...see ya in August.

Very good visual images. I truly felt as if I were there running down that corridor with you. Good job.

Definitely made an impact with your first post, letting us all know that you belong here. I like your style and I like your descriptiveness. You paint a very vivid picture. Can't wait to see more.
