Reunion

its been 30 years
of life love and pasts
30 years have passed
since youve visited this place last

30 years of memories
30 years of love
30 years since you left this place
and flew off like a dove

now you come back
to see all that changed
to see both within and without
all thats been rearranged

30 years have past
yet still you remeber
all the good times and bad
of each and every september

alot has changed
in time that youve been gone
your looking for whats stayed the same
what has survived for so so long

you came to see others
and they to see you
you get together to see who and how
to chat about him and her and maybe that other guy too

to brag about your life
and to hear others brag too
and to see if by some chance
some other has done better that you

yet its all in good nature
its all just having fun
just seeing if these new people
have changed from that memory of someone

you miss the old times
yet yern for the new
so you do this every 10 years
to talk until you turn blue

and when you gvo home
you have updated your memories
you have had a good time
and made ammends with old enemies

and you cant wait to do it again

my parents jus went to a 30 yr highschool reunion, so i was bored and wrote this for them

always follow your heart, never follow others unless it is truely where you want to go, and never give up a dream, maybe just set it aside for a while... :)

I enjoyed reading this poem.  Good writing!
I have gone to a few reunions over the years and this painted a good picture of how most of them go.

Looking ahead perhaps we all we be in their shoes someday. To be in this pointed reality doting on the opinions of others... Perhaps we all we will be there. See you in 30 yrs.

You did a really good job capturing the idea.  You've got my vote.  Keep it up.

just think though when it is our turn to go to the reunions...see people we thought we would never see again...it sounds like it would be fun...see people you were good friends with but then lost contact with...i honestly cant wait for my reunions to come up...you see how much people changed...besides its the memories of your life...
