I am going to post both poems in this one topic because I dont want to waste space on the page. You can reply to one or both if you like, both were written by me a while ago when various things were going on in my life.

"What difference does it make?"

this world is no place for me
what difference does it make
if i go to school tommorow
if i get good sleep tonight
will it effect my future
what does it hold for me
some job, proffession, retirement
death
could
be
seconds
away
what difference does it make
if I am a lawyer, or a teacher
a police man, or a killer
maybe i dont care what happens
so why try in life,
why live for death,
i am being shaped by the world around me

why sleep tonight......
why wake tommorow.......
what difference will it make
this is what has become of me

Second poem

"What doesn't kill me now"

Whats the solution
For my insanity
Its my new years revolution
To forget and move on
One eighth of my life on this earth
Was spent in love with you
Desperately searching for some form of rebirth
To no avail, I find emptyness
What doesnt kill me now
Can only make me stronger
But I often question how
I will survive through this
But then I think...
I can handle this
After all I am a man
So I leave you with a quote
From a favorite emo band

"and i'm certain that if i drive into those trees, it would make less of a mess, than she's made of me..."

dear lucius:
while i'd be the first to admit that this isn't your BEST work, it certainly stands up against most everything else i've read... particularly as free-verse... i'm not much of an authority on this style of verse, but i DO know what i like and what i dont like, and it usually has to do with the content and appearance of the work and i think in both cases you have a solid and meaningful bit of both... i particularly like the first poem, since i've often wondered the same thing... not sure if you ever came to a conclusion on the matter you address there, but this was mine: it may not make a difference to the world as a whole, but it will make a world of difference to at least one special person... anyway.. i wont try to persuade you, i'll just let you think about it...

sincerely,
a sad tomato

you're such a beautiful freak... i wish there were more just like you...

I really do like both of these and can relate to each. I've often wondered about the first and have been through the second. They were both really good  .
