Firendship is a special gift A miraculous one too It's amazing what makes friends click and makes them stay so true With genuine feelings, yet simple words, I'll describe what is a friend If you have met this special someone I'm sure you will comprehend A friend Is not the one who's always around you Nor the one who talks to you the most But he'll be there, if you need someone to share your joys, pains and sorrows To a true friend, words don't really count Silence is the best conversation When the comfort you seeking is "My friend's around " You might not have seen him for ages You might be living miles apart But true friendship overcomes all barriers He'll always be dear in your heart And to you, my dear friend, I must say, I have found all these in you You're always there when I needed help, or simply, some advice Even when I make a grave mistake, You'll still say something nice I guess I don't have to say much I know you'll understand I just wish to be more appreciative, helpful, understanding... And hopefully, a better friend I still wonder what made us click, and to each other, stay so true Predestined or otherwise, I consider it a blessing to have befriended you |

dear estrella: i've always liked reflective poems of this sort... john donne wrote many poems reflecting upon his relationships with his loved-ones and with his God... and since he's one of my favorite authors, i suppose i have a soft spot for this type of writing *heh*... there are some minor problems with the flow of the verse that makes it a bit laborious reading in places, but overall you've made your point clearly and concisely... and, happily the first one to say it -- welcome to passions  sincerely, a sad tomato you're such a beautiful freak... i wish there were more just like you... |

A friend is a wonderful gift, and you describe them well. I especally like this stanza: "A friend Is not the one who's always around you Nor the one who talks to you the most But he'll be there, if you need someone to share your joys, pains and sorrows" It's so true. Good poem Estrella, if a person needs to know what a friend is like, or needs to be like, I would recomend that they read this poem! This is an excellent post! Keep it up! Micale |
