The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2000-12-30 10:05 PM

Yesterday
he turned away,
though I fell to my knees
and begged him to stay.
He stepped casually over
the spot where I lay.

But this is today
and this night I will say
I am up from my knees
and someday he will pay
with the loss of his heart
as his life turns to gray.

(I'm not bitter, nope, not me...)

Sandra,
Such a heartfelt cry of a loss of that one true love. I wish for you only happiness in the year to come. You will find it, you deserve all the beauty of which you write of.
       Love you, Elise

Sandra, any person who tosses love aside like that deserves to pay, and I think the best way to maake him pay is to find someone who could do what he could not, love you for the beautiful person that you are. enjoyed the poem, and take care. < !signature-->

Its as if they don't have any feelings
and still the day will come when the feelings stare them in the face...not a pleasant experience...I have experienced both sides of this...James
