Earth moving,
Pile the scrapings from the hole,
Bloody hands,
Hardly can,
Cold roughness taking it’s toil,
The skin pales,
Broken nails,
Digging and prying the ground,
Unseeing,
Just being,
A shovel of flesh digs down;
Earth moving,
Slowly making shallow hole.

Dragging stone,
Big boulders are levered out
With a pole,
Roll to hole,
Till they just circle about,
This cold ground
Now to bound,
Bloody hands shifts the cold earth,
Then laying,
Not praying,
Bury my soul’s little worth,
Dragging stone,
Covering the shallow hole.

Now I lay me down to die,
Fading eyes upon the sky,
I’ve come so far to remain,
On a stone I scratched my name.

Gloom

very very interesting mr. gloom. i liked this one alot, kind of reminds me of a poem by emily dickinson "because i could not stop for death",except yours is harsher and blunter, none of that hidden symbolism,i really liked it.

Thank you, Swamp#Faeryie
I will admit to being harsher and blunter
Than Emily, and glad to be compared to her.
Your words are very kind.
