This isn't exactly dark, but it is unusual so no place finer in my eyes than to post it here..

OUR NIGHTS IN BALLYGRANT

I have crossed oceans of time,
To travel back to where I belong,
To where the world is still bonny,
And we pass the nights in song.

For ye ken this world of the Millenium,
Is nay where I long to be,
The people are whinging and self indulgent,
Tis the ancient times of Ballygrant for me.

Our days in Carrighfergus
Even with the Landlord's wrath,
Our nights entwined together in Ballygrant,
Together we were on the right path.

The simple things are what mattered,
Love of home, land and each other,
Kilkenny's majesty a miracle to see,
Watching our young Dinny romp and play like no other.

Dunguaire Castle how proud and strong she stood,
And you mi Lord such a fine and generous man,
Together we helped your family and people,
A united front in this sometimes forbiding land.

Those sacred nights we shared in Ballygrant,
Oh my love 'Eisd ris!' (hear me),
Those damned henge stones lured me away,
With you is where I'm meant to be.

Locked in our passionate embrace,
Our celtic gypsy ways,
Our days spent working the land,
Ballygrant's sunsets at the end of the day.

No finer man have I known or loved,
None more brave and true,
In all the world's times I've seen,
I can love no man more than I love you.

The henge stones took me from my home,
And bought me back the same way,
And tis here in Ballygrant with you,
I'll stay 'til me dying day....

Lisa....Excellent work, I really enjoyed this one!  Say hi! to the cutie for me.

Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.
