"The Lost Battle"

I feel the energy slipping
The endless tears dripping

My body hollow as my mind processes
What my actions have done
The disappointing reality too cold to bare
I just stare in the mirror unable to recongize the person standing there

I lied to cover the horrible truth
Which will soon come out and turn my world
Upside down and inside out

This battle I've lost feels like a bad dream
and if I don't wake up soon I'm going to scream

Why is it I usually have to learn the hard way
Before I get the chance for victory   blue

Great little poem. I enjoyed it. I loved your imaginary.

Yes i agree it was hauntingly sad, and every word was true. Thanks for the encouragement.

Lisa...It is said that experience is a hard school, but some will learn in no other.  As a "student" of that school, I can attest to the truthfulness of that statement.  Hopefully we learn from the experience and move on, avowing never to repeat the experience (Not all "experiences" are mistakes).  Well said here...enjoyed it.  Hardrock

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Also glad to know I'm not alone in the path of life of expirence, mistakes, and learning. Yes life is a hard school but hey someone has to have the job right. LOL. I did learn from it so I guess I've grown in a way. Take care.
