"I've been expecting you..."

I imagine us sitting in your office
Together sipping coffee from a plastic cup.
Lost track of time, swept with infatuation,
Laughter and conversation unwilling to stop.
There's only you and me in the room
Everything else melted into thin air.
Locked in together and nothing else matters
But your intoxicating passionate stare.
Then you say I'm the one you've been needing
And been waiting for all of your life.
Circumstances have kept you from telling this,
Like your kids and your mean ugly wife.
You get up and move closer and closer,
Stretch your arms so inviting and warm
And before I can taste of your kisses -
Strikes reality's nagging alarm.

"Most girls want a man with the mean green
Don't wanna dance if he can't be
Everything that I dream up
A man that understands real love"
