A Handful of Braids

I wish I were one of those people,
Who could walk around everyday,
And how I wish I could say,
How I wish I was you,

On my knees I crawl, through nails and broken glass,
If only to see her face for one last time,
Before I break the circle and cross the line,
Into a void eternity of being lonely lousy fine,

The wine spills like blood, her party dress dyed red,
A tragedy of irony, it was so pretty, when she said;
“So long as you asked nicely”, She’s in my head constantly,
I’ve come this far, I still got nothing at all, but lies and honesty,

Help me cause I’m bound to consequence, a victim of environment,
With a thousand miles between me and my life’s fulfillment,
With a million years to think about my failure, a lack of commitment,
One caustic mistake, out of so many…so many, wasted a moment,

The dime drops, and I’m talking like an imbecile,
What can never be, I want my false reality, cause real life it’s killing me,
Buried in a rundown downtown hell of frozen faces, seek ever the crying tree,
Screaming like the madman, the black winds blow my name across this sea,

A handful of braids to tie to me to my own misery, tragic for all eternity,
Upon a denied shade of peace, never again seems like an awful place,
To spend every waking moment, lost in the dreams of impossibility,
I wish someone could find me, so I could shut my eyes to my insecurities,

The crying tree whimpers there in agony, carved with names, you and me,
Sap stains like blood, but what does it matter, for it was shed in the name of love,
This obsession, is my sickness, what are you, when you love your sadness,
Softly spoken lies, float through the sweet breeze and for a second I’m free of my madness,

Spreading insanity, one post at a time

"We live in a wheel, where everyone steals, but when we rise it's like strawberry fields,"

I really love the way this poem unfolds. The scariest part is that I understand it...
