Bleak house is where I live
Bleak thoughts are what I give
Bleak deeds with passing days
Save me from infernal ways.

Can you see me? Bleak as I am
Blending in like bread, no butter just jam
Bleak ideas spread through the universe
Bleak existence I have, for I'm cursed

To roam this life in the half real and half not
To pass on this bleakness, to each every spot
Where happiness reigns and loving abounds
Deny me my sorrow, I'll give chase like hounds.

I draw together the defeated, depressed
Lost souls wandering finding no rest
I draw them in to my world with no hues
Yet still I'm lonely, weary confused.

As bleakness spreads so does my sorrow
That I should cause no hope for the morrow
I stand here on the abyss with regret
If I take my life can you forget

And survive……

Kethry...Something keeps bringing me back to this poem.  There is a "grayness" here...a feeling of "lostness" in the words.  I think you have done exceptionally well, even to the title, in describing feelings that overtake us all from time to time.  Well done.  Hardrock

I, too, enjoyed this piece.. Funny how the grey days are such an excellent outlet for prose. Thank you for sharing this..I look forward to reading more (although, I hope there is some sunshine around the corner..Good prose is no excuse for a bleak existence..  )

Great write,
Sheila

This a hauntingly dark piece Kethry. Take care!

Like this very much,
Especially the repetition at the front of the lines
Sets the poem along it way.
Down the bleak and darkness of passions,
Very enjoyable.

once again today you have put words to my feelings....enjoyed this poem so much..
hopefully, things wont always be bleak for me or for you...then again..sometimes grey is more comfortable than any other state of mind.
wonderful job
