Dark within the midnight dreaming
Nightmares ride upon me screaming
Waking, waking, waking once more,
From horrors of the night steaming
To reality outside my chamber door,
Worst ever than my worst of dreaming.
Reality, really the life I deplore.

What wakes him,
The crash of trash discarded,
Pieces lost,
Others tossed,
Thundering aluminum,
The worker,
And passers,
Keep alone eyes diverted
From shadows
And windows,
From the trash that was human.
He’s awake,
What will reality take?

Gloom

Do you really hate the world of real?
Outside your nightmares, awaits the "feel".
Tossing, tossing, tossing out old,
Those thoughts so mare-ish that they steal
The treasures that your arms could hold.
Release what's horrid, enjoy the real.
Behind closed mind, you'll find the gold.

What comforts,
The silent warmth of blue eyes,
Seeking mine,
Hazel find,
Brightened smile, a tease, a flirt.
Arms surround,
Wanting bound,
To breathe in air that he sighs.
Memories,
Float in breeze,
Wanting to erase all hurt,
Being there,
Our realities, to share.

A wonderful poem. I loved the ending. The formatting of the second stanza was great

"I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust."

I hate your socks. I'd like to burn them!
