When was the last time, That you did something unselfishly? When knowing you would gain nothing, But a warm satisfying feeling? Examples . . . Go to an old people's home, Find the one with no family, Sit and chat with them, Make today a different reality. Send a written letter to a friend, Just to say how much they mean to you, And remind them that you're always there, When they need a friend who's true. Participate in community projects, To make the world a better place, Planting trees or walk a thons, Putting smiles on other people's faces. Offer to walk an elderly neighbours dog, For they need the exercise, Then return with a little morning tea A truly nice surprise. You yourself should meditate, Look deep and far within, Find what needs improving, And then you'll surely win. We all know an older person, Who is alone each Christmas Day, Invite them to your family gathering, You're sending love and caring their way. There is more to life than us and our goals, We have so much to offer one another, Look and see people's needs, Be a sister or brother...... *I believe every time you put your words to paper, you change. that is a wonderful gesture and should be heeded, there are those alone, awaiting for a kind word to be whispered their way. It can leave an everlastng impession on both involved.
