THE SHADOW OF ME:

Take me away from this world I despise
For I am the cause of my true love's demise
Whenever I'm near I see someone fall
The dance of my life 'till curtain's call

But once in your life comes a different light
No matter how close it still burns bright
If this is the same as all the times before
Sometime soon you'll be out that door

Chances taken become chances lost
Paying the price means counting the cost
Holding another's heart in mine
Eternity's captured in this moment in time

Rivers of life pass me by
Everyday, every time I have to ask why
For whenever my heart joins another in flight
The turn of the tide washes in the night

*And I see you here
  As I watch behind the shadow of me
  I want you near
  But the chance has gone for this life to be
