Our hearts are hurting,
We've wasted so much time,
And just perhaps I can convery our story,
So others will learn from our crime.

When young, it was too much to comprehend,
It scared us in fact,
No matter what inevitably happened,
We always came back.

Too young to care,
Too young to understand,
How were we to know
Destiny was playing her hand?

Time moved on,
Always a link,
Always a memory or voice calling,
A calling so distinct.

It never ended,
Yet it never began,
Perhaps we're not meant to know?
Perhaps we're not meant to understand?

We lived with and loved others,
And our memories were enough to sustain,
Intermittent phone calls,
Our rainbow after the rain.

Endless dreams and yearnings,
Precious moments all too few,
Looking for another rendeavous',
Longing for those moments of 'we two'.

Chances to love,
Yet reasoning, doubt or reality,
Teared those chances apart,
We float on a perpetual bitter sea.

We missed our opportunities,
Missed our few precious chances,
Yet still it's all there waiting to unfold,
The story of our unending romance.

Don't settle for just anyone,
Grab that special someone and never let go,
For sometimes logic and reasoning,
Aren't the only players in life's 'show'.

So dear reader, heed this lesson,
Although rationale' my confuse,
You've got to give these feelings a try,
Live them, don't let your 'Forever kind of Love' die or pass you by......

Isis, I love this poem, for so many reasons. But I fear for the situation, as you see how mine turned out. This was exactly our story, and when at last I took every hope and dream I had and went to him, he let me fall.

Isis, why is it that we never learn these lessons until it's too late?

Beautiful my friend. . .

Lessons learned ALWAYS come too late and usually at high cost.  But sadly mankind is afflicted with the saying 'Live and Learn!'
Thanks for reading..
