Between a laugh and a tear...

0 posted 2000-10-03 07:30 AM

I've cried for the children
And I've cried for the old men
I've cried too for this land,
The animals, and even mankind
And so I sit here tonight, alone!
Trapped within this living nightmare
Just another lonely old man in the darkness
A sad and sorry sight, bitter and twisted
With only one question left to ask
Who cries for me?

Eagleone. This lovely piece full of pathos and yearning touched my heart so the gift I'm returning.

I'd cry for you as the wind bears your voice
sharing your sorrow leaving no choice
whispering your name in the dead of night
lifting your spirit to see you laugh with delight
I'd cry for you till my passion is spent
and then enduring create songs of lament
I would weep till the twistedness in you is unbent
and when no more tears I have left to cry, I reach up for comfort, offer stars moon and sky.

Indeed my Friend, Who cries for the lonely man? Who would shed a tear dead soul? a flake of dust in the ocean of time. I'll cry for you, because I too ask, who will cry for me?

Poignant. A painful question I'm sure many have asked themselves. This poem has a lot of appeal through understanding.

Kethry.......All I can say is thankyou one more time.

CitiZen-One.....I think it is a question we ask ourselves, if we're lucky we may even find the answer.

Christopher......A painful question indeed and I'm certain it has been, and will be, asked many times. Thankyou for reading and your comments.

My Butterfly, how could I ever want to hide from such a sweet lady. Besides you know me too well and would always find me.   No comment on the bathroom walls....lol, take care my friend!

EagleOne,

Found you!!  This one was worth the search I think my friend.  Your dark side has emerged for us.  Just so you know, I'd cry for you.  Don't sell yourself short my friend.

BTW, like the pic!!

Indeed my friend I feel your pain
For I think many have traveled that empty lane,
So we write the wounds down for others to see
Some not eye to eye yet some do agree.
Right now outside rain pours from the skies
It's safe to say for you now, the heavens cry.

Good work my man,
Jerm

I can relate to this on every avenue hon!  I have cried for the world, the sick, the injured, the starving, those in war, and myself, and I have wondered the same just as you.  Brillian stuff hon

I'm crying for you right now my friend, because I ask the question who will cry for me. And because you can not cry for yourself, I will cry for you. I feel the cold air of loneliness that you feel when you ask who will cry for me. Men especially need someone to cry for them, because we are raised in a world does not allow men to cry, or to be cried for, and yet it is this lack of shedding tears that truly makes men weaker, and broken inside. I will cry for you, because I too ask the question, who will cry for me. I know the answer is sometimes we have to cry for ourselves. As painful as that can be.

The tears that glisten on my cheeks
Are there for you my friend
Just reach out and brush them from my face
I'll be with you til the end
You're never alone you must know that
'cause you're always here in my heart
Just take my hand and hold on tight
And from this friendship never depart
