CLINGING TO YOUTH
Clinging to youth,
as the last strings fall away.
Stuck somewhere in the middle,
though wanting to hang back & stay.
Like a VCR forwarding fast,
pause, slow motion, rewind,
it's not quite easy to make it last.
Why can't we go back,
to when life was simple.
When a day felt like a week,
when we'd get up real early,
& leap to our feet.
When we had time to stop & smile,
to smell a flower,
or watch some ants march past.
We're now too busy rushing,
getting into a crash,
where life may be taken,
in an instant, a flash.
So take your time now,
savor scenery as you drive by.
Don't forget to laugh,
& never be afraid to cry.
Don't lose the child at heart,
live as free as you please.
Go crazy, get silly,
hug all the trees!

~Life's too short to rush, enjoy & be happy!~
LOVE ELMO <3

You know, this poem reminds me of a radio show I once listened to.  In one scene, a man was watching a bunch of children, all walking in different directions, pursuing different dreams.  BUt then, after a while, they all started to walk in the same direction, and they lost the fire and dreams of their youth.

This is a great poem!  I liked it.  Yes, it is a good idea to stop and smile at times.  I think it was Wordsworth who said, "The World is too Much With Us".

OK, How many more times are you going to read my mind?

I love this one!

I am still trying to figure out what I am going to be when I grow up.

I feel that inside I am still very young. I won't say how old, that would give away the age you know? Ha Ha!
