This morning when I woke up to face the same old, same old…
I realized the spark had gone and I was dead and cold
My heart had turned to ashes at the death of your great love
And all that's left are memories, a dearth of push and shove
I thought I saw your face and then, you disappeared once again
I looked to see, reflections of a lonely me, hiding in the rain
Looking through the windows absorbing all my light
Finding only bitterness, to help me with my plight
Waiting for the moment to turn away, but drawn
To the featureless plateau of the rising dawn.
A craven coward nothing left, nothing more to say
Except to make a welcome to my dreary same old day.

if everything is always the same, than at least you know what to expect.

I agree, it's all too easy to get caught up in the day to day drearyness of ones life!

Kethry, this is so sad, and I relate so well. Very on target with this. Hope you feel better soon.

Kethry

i think you have successfully described every dull, rainy-day monday, where work and personal problems collide, with you squashed in the middle.

Excellently written

Josh.
