You

O my beloved,
Hold forth your hands
That I may place therein
The desolate, shattered shell
Of what was once my heart.
And if by chance
There should remain
A semblance still
Of life at your dear touch,
Be not afraid...
It lies quite dead, yet dying
Cannot lose
The consciousness
Of You.

Oh Rex how beautiful and Sad
Yet I understand and know how it feels
for your heart to die
and yet.....
Great piece

Illusion....Thank you very much for your kind comments.  I appreciate them very much.  I have about 58 poems on this site, all of which are from my book "Songs of Sorrow".  Thanks again.  Regards, Rex.

Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.
