Take me to that place you go..
That dark oblivion where no light shows...
I can’t take this stress
This hateful unrest
Take me to that place you go..

Give me the blackness of your eyes...
That opal shine that tells of lies...
I can’t take this blue
This brightness that shows truth
Give me the blackness of your eyes..

Take me to that place you go..
That dark realm where shadows roam..
I can’t take my screams
This horrid voice in my dreams..
Take me to that place you go..

Give me the words that you speak..
That tongue that melts as I weep...
I can’t take this place I live...
This eternal peace, this must to give..
Give me the words that you speak..

Take me to that place you go..
That forever black, that forever low..
I can’t take this strain
This selfish, passionate pain..
Take me to that place you go..

Playing with matches?  Watch or you'll get burnt!! LOL  I really liked this, you make the reader feel the longing, the devestation that led 'you' to the trials and tribulations of darkness..  Well done

this is really an excellent poem i think

the interpretation i choose is that this person with which you are trying to connect is hidden behind a wall of melancholy and emotional detachment. And you are trying to break the wall down and share in a bond of feelings with this person. Anyway that means something to me.

Or it could just be you struggling within your own darkness.

Whatever it is it is really well written

Excellent work.

Ilph,

I thank you for your comments and for reading. Perhaps it is the first of your sentences that I am dealing with....But perhaps just every now and then. And I also think there may lie in each of us this tiny bit of darkness, that when let loose; it could become something of that which I wrote. Not to say that I am struggling in darkness, just reaching a bit for that dark mood that can creep upon us when we least expect. Your comments were much appreciated.

Take care,
Jen

Carolinadreams,

Thank you for reading and I am glad you enjoyed it. It is always nice when something you have written can touch someone else; no matter how small or how big. Your comments were appreciated.

Take care,
Jen
