Elyria, Oh *at the moment*

Twisted, ancient, gnarled with hate,
twas to be the faerie queen's fate.

Once she wore the morning dew,
sunlight stroked her golden hue.

She'd fly through groves on silver wing
as each new bud would hear her sing,

"Never shall I fall in love,
twill never be for me...

never shall they take my heart,
for then human I shall be."

Day after Day,
Year after Year,
singing these words without a tear.

Then one day I found the glenn,
far from where Id ever been.

Taken so with what I saw,
in the grass I had to fall,

Sleep soon came to shut my eyes,
and there I laid till moonlit skies.

When I woke, was to a sound,
the most beautiful voice Id ever found.

I followed through the glenn that night,
until I found the gorgeous sight.

There she sat, the Faerie Queen,
with a face of golden sheen.

Then her eyes fell on my gaze,
whereI stood amidst the haze.

I, the first one she had seen,
startled her beyond belief

I stole her heart with just a breath,
I did not mean to bring her death,

We talked until the morning dew,
and it was then the faerie knew,

Her boastful song had now come true,
with the last breath of "I love you"

She vanished then, from that glenn,
almost as if shed never been.

She sat somewhere,
her powers gone,
now she wove a sadder song,

"With my eyes, I saw true love,
with my prayers I thanked above,
with my lips I kissed the sky,
with her heart I know shall die."

She grew so old, that faerie queen,
she lost her beauty, her golden sheen.

but on the night the moon sunk low,
she knew twas time for her to go,

So with last breath, stars heard her sing,
"Though I now die and feel death's sting,
I wouldnt change a single thing."
