The children on the farm have nothing to eat.
Their parents plea to the international community to feed them,
But their plea goes unanswered.
When they ask why they have no food nobody can answer them.
They just quietly tell them to get back to work.
And so, they sow, and starve, and shrivel up, and die.
But on Wallstreet and on the Stockmarket,
Everyone cheers because they've just reaped yet another
Bunch of "dough".

We are the hollow men
We are the stuffed men
Leaning together
Headpiece filled with straw. Alas!

I sincerely hope no children are starving because of the greed on Wallstreet...
I do know that companies are downsizing to increase profitability which will in turn increase the value of the companies stock.
When you downsize families lose their jobs and suffer financially...this is all driven by greed with a complete disregard for the plight of individual families...
Thanks for caring about the starving children...Wallstreet doesn't...James

It's a screwed up old world we live in isn't it?     For example, we should use the olympics money to help the needy, not spend millions on a sporting event!!  Don't get me wrong I love watching the olympics too, but there are bigger and more important fish to fry.  Well written, good reminder that gets you thinking..

Thanks for the compliments, everyone.  This has been something that's been bothering me quite a bit lately.  I get quite pissed off when I see some guy on television talking about why it is and isn't good to be investing in certain companies.  The reason being that they only talk about how there's weather affecting the growing seasons there or whatever, not because of how these third world factories are probably treating their workers.  I think we need to get off our greedy little asses and do something about all this before the world crumbles, and I do believe that it's already started to crumble!
