Yawning, gaping, maw
always open wide
I want,
I want.
I want!
I WANT!
Never satisfied

Willful, prideful image
only seeing self
I must,
I must.
I must!
I MUST!
Amass, acquire, wealth

Childish, introspection
Looking now within
I need,
I need.
I need!
I  NEED!
I need this precious thing.

*smile*
well, having a little boy, i hear the "i want i need" thing all the time...but to hear adults do it is far more irratating!
(ok, i'll admit, im a closet shopper...shh..dont tell...)
but im no where near as bad as some people...
im glad to see someone writing about this issue.

Thank you so much Dawn. A little retail therapy anyone?

Kethry, I find it strange that I have so much junk in my bed room when all I want really are my books and cds.

really enjoyed the poem.

Keth, this is brilliant!
Why are we like that? We need so little really, just love and a bit more. Perhaps we want to replace that void in our soul with things, money. Perhaps we think that *things* will make us more loveable. There is so much truth in the statement that never mind how much you have, you will never be satisfied. We mistake spiritual need for material need, I suppose ...
