Repentance

Ah! Please...in thy vast fortitude, condemn me not,
Nor ask that grief be laid away and woe forgot.
I could not love thee so and sing the while,
Nor tread Elysian Fields, where mile by mile
Deep flowers of passion grow...if I needs be
Through endless years apart, deprived of thee!
Ah! Let me grieve and in my grieving know
A sad repentance, dear, in having loved thee so!

Your usage of words is simply marvelous. Great work as always.
