WAR

A young soldier
looks around
at the dead
of another race.

While
a young soldier
looks around
at the dead
of another race.

Their eyes meet
and they wonder
what has happened
to this world.

Never give your heart away, it will always come back broken.

I like this poem. i can picture in that moment of eeerie, awkward calm, the two soldiers from opposite sides look at each other, and realize that the whole thing is senseless killing all over again. Very powerful piece in my opinion. Well done!

It's true... war is a rediculous, terrible game that serves only sick and twisted people...

This is a great one! I like the two soldiers each doing the same thing. It sort of conveys a sense of unity in a world broken apart.

fractal007... that's what I was trying to do. Convey some sort of unity in an ununited world. "We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now capable to do anything, using absolutely nothing"
