Fragments of my life flit by
seen through kaleidoscope
facets here that make me cry
and  bar my dreams from hope

Visions of an earlier me
in shredded photographs
seen through shrouded memory
on jagged broken paths

Odd pieces of a jigsaw
which doesn't fit together
houses built from sticks and straw
that can't withstand the weather

Slivers of my life I see
and never the whole drawing
fractured, poignant, lonely me
waiting for new dawning

Remnants in time half recalled
the ragged ending frays
into the mists of pain, life stalled
the darkening of my days

A child's painting, black on black
and grotesque mouths that swallow
shouting, screaming, reaching back
to kill me in its hollow

When sunlight streams through windows
and fragments fill my soul.
I wonder who will mend this doll
and heal me, make me whole.

but it is the loss that shapes the image,
gathers the flowers weaves the garland."-

Very vivid and honest...beautiful. Nature, time, and patience are the three great physicians. Just remember that during your process of healing.

And that is what life is Kethry as you have so well put it - fragments - the whole is lost in the maze of lost time. Well written. And there will be a dawn one day!

This is fantastic, Kethry!
Sad and desperate, haunting too, and very good.

Feeling this intensely. The second and third stanza particularly. Loved this, and sorry you are in such a sad time.
Take care

Kethry...
Sometimes life does seem fragmented, but as time goes by you can look back and somehow the pieces start fitting together.  Time does wonders for many emotional things......this was written beautifully, and I wish you happiness...

Dark enchantress - thank you for your comments. Most of my pain is old but when I'm tired poems leak out.

demoninlove - thanks for your kinds words. I have seen the dawn and now share my dark times with understanding others.

Lotharingia - thanks, your comments are very precious to me.

Wren - you make me blush with your kind words.

Cat - thanks. I'm not sad exactly, just lonely, and working through old stuff on death anniversaries is always hard.

Sunny1 - I'm glad you like my poem.

Jnr4eva - Thank you. I'm glad you love the second verse. I've never had anyone in love with my work before.

Be well
Keth

This touched a part of me that I can not even place into words! Your imagery is outstanding and so heartfelt are your words that I felt like craddling the doll at the end!!
Wonderful!!

Click - so glad you could relate. Hope you are manging it.

a-alibaster - I'm accepting everyone's hugs, comfort just now and I wrote a poem on called "smiles and hugs" on the open forum to blatantly say so

LM - Thanks for your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to quote them to me. My poetry always sounds different when I read it back. Sometimes it's a surprise that I actually wrote that.

Be well
