Where does this end When does it die? Why are hearts broken Which makes our soul cry? Dreams are manuafactured To be taken away There is the death of romance Without a word to say. We believe in things Which imagination inspires A cruel reality sets in And extinguishes the fire. We grasp at a chance For a "happily ever after" Only to be subdued By the real world's laughter. Holding belief in rainbows And a gentle sky above Waiting once again To experience this thing called love. Call the cycle vicious Or maybe even sinister We follow this religion Which has no minister. So it never ends And it's true it never dies Our hearts continue to break And we forever cry. The dreams keep coming To us every day Only to be diminished And mysteriously blown away. Just like the rose The thorns on its side Yet so violated and exposed Its feelings it cannot hide. So we hang on loosely Praying we don't fall For if the heart strings break Surly we'll lose it all.
