A Treasure, Boxed In Life

When the nights have drawn dark upon my heart
I turn to you, my place of comfort.
Gentle handling, your words to me
in this heart that holds no room for doubt.
You cast me, mold me, shape my thoughts.
You shine your moon upon my face.
I let it's glow sweep over me,
feel the butterflies,
catch myself smiling at their touch.

That day you came my way, a complete stranger,
into my life unexpectedly, a treasure, boxed in life.
I opened it to find soft touches to ease my pain,
kisses to heal the hurts, printed words
smooth and sweet, to touch every part of me,
a rainbow of colors and a brush
to paint for me, my morning sun.

As I close my eyes, I drift among these treasures
surrendering each morning, melting my boundaries
yielding to a place I love, wondering...
what life would be like without you.

And retreating each night into darkness
dreaming, pleasantly
knowing in my heart, your gentle words
will rock me to sleep forevermore.
