DADDY'S GIRL Whatever do I say, how can I possibaly begin. How can I thank you enough, for all you've helped me within. You were always there, when I fell & skinned a knee. You were the one who plugged my nose, & forced down medicine that was only good for me. You gave me space to test my wings, to see if I could fly, but you never walked away, when I needed you there to cry. You taught me how to ride a bike. I never even knew you let go. Although I was angry at the time, I know that has helped me grow. You took me out on the boat, & taught me how to fish. Even though I often fell asleep, those days are dearly missed. Those days where you could run & play, & swing me all around. Long swims in pools & lakes, you showed me I wouldn't drown. I really do miss those days, now that you're stuck in bed. But then we had our all night talks, 'bout whatever popped in our head. We'd laugh & wonder about everything, our fascination with a dream, & trying to figure out, what it could possibaly mean. In all those years, we've had so much fun. How could I ever thank you enough, for all that you have done? And now that I'm in college, working so hard just to suceed. I rarely find the time to call, but feel free to call if you ever need. I'm always here just to talk, & I enjoy it very so. If you ever have something to say, just ring & let me know. I cherish every memory, that so long ago was left behind. But day to day, once in a while, one or two will come to mind. Even though I'm all grown up, in almost every way, I'll always be daddy's little girl, & love you more than words can say! Myparents were divorced when i was 12- i'll be 19 aug 23rd. My dad lives with his mom now.He was gnosed with a very rare disease about 5 years ago that has left him paralyzed from the lower ribcage down. He is often very sick & to weak to get out of bed. He is only the second person known to have this & the first has died because of lack of info about it. My dad is in & out of hospitals - more surgery. just to keep him out of pain he wears morphine patches.~ Love Elmo <3 |

I am so, so very sorry to hear that Elmo...so many of us take our parents for granted while others aren't lucky enough to have such a loving family. It's unfortunate but I think you should show him this poem if you haven't already...I'm sure he'd love reading it. Just as I did.  Take care! Awww thanx everyone I wrote this one at work lol. Yea I'm going to mail this one to him. I already showed my mom & she cried so im kinda afraid to send it. |

Elmo this is lovely. Here is a tear I cried over it. I'm feeling a bit soppy tonight remembering my dad and this poem caused tears to flow. Elmo I loved the poem. I didn't have a father figure in my life growing up he was in and out. I am very glad that you remember and charish those moments. I am getting a better relationship with my father now so I am hoping to make those moments with him. My mother has MS and is always in bed but I feel a lot of this poem towards her. So you could say I was Momma's Little Girl Great Poem Keep it UP POETRY PRINCESS "Love is a serious thing, and tears is all it will bring, but how do I bring it to an end, and how do I get my heart to mend? |

Elmo hon what a lovely tribute poem for your Dad!! I hope you show him a copy of this. How wonderful you two had such a special and loving relationship. How sad he is so ill now. Hon make the most of all the time you have left with him, tell him you love him, every day, make the most of your time with him. Buy him a special gift, share your poems, life and laughter with him, a love so special is to precious to waste... Thanx guys I try to spend as much time as i can with him, but I'm sooo busy now & its hard, but I go there as nmuch aas possible & we have the best times together thanx again for all the replys LOVE ELMO |
