Elyria, Oh *at the moment*

She dances,
dances in the obsidian veils of night.
The porcelain mask,
covering that face..
Always a smile,
so beautiful
so sweet.

She dances,
dances with whispers of clouds threading like a shawl..
Draping over her shoulders, she pirouettes..
Those golden eyes,
wrapped now in the glory of sunlight.

She dances,
day and night..
the rise of the sun,
the wash of the moon.

That mask,
one of many
too everyone she meets.

A puppet on a string,
giving and dancing
and prancing and playing..

For scraps of affection
for whispers of adoration...

Until the mask falls..
Darkness,
crimson tears streaking olive kissed cheeks.
Brown eyes, endless

The mask cracks,
the audience...
gasps in horror...
backing away

She dances on..
spinning and spinning
reaching out..
crying..

Please..dont go!
Please dont go!

falling to her knees..
The mask in pieces
She is alone.
