for Debra I ask you to hold me when you're not there to be held I look into your eyes when you're not there to be seen I feel your breath against my lips when you're miles away from me And I really don't know why But sometimes at night I cry Some tell me: 'Take her away from him, she's not his to be had.' Some tell me: 'Leave her, lose her, she's less than what you really need.' I tell me: 'Wait for her, she loves me now.' and I'm the one I'll heed And I'm happy when I feel That your love for me is real I dream of walking with you when the rain is falling from the sky I dream of talking with you in a garden of delight I dream of making love with you throughout an endless night And then sometimes it seems That I live because of dreams I post this tonight for my friend J-. What he's going through now, I went through when I wrote this 12 years ago.
