My awe of you has died down,
My happiness to see you has faded.
All of the constant hurt, the drama,
It has caused me to calm..I'm no longer elated.

I finally see in you the attractive nature of a wall.
I no longer gaze at you the way I used to.
I feel the sting from past wrongs,
Thus I no longer wish to hold you.

It's kind of sad how I see you... bland.
The sort of nausea I feel to the mention of you.
I feel different, or maybe just indifferent?
You could leave me now..and I would go about my day.

I'm not sure who this is about, sort of about men in general right now. Thanks for reading!

oh the sadness of love lost. Or in this case, love dried up with the passing of time prompted by a hurt you no longer wish to suffer. This is a really nice poem i think. It really conveys a vacuum of feelings...once so strong..sucked out by pain. (But I hope all men dont suffer with your indifference...because there are probably some nice ones out there). The last line says it all. Excellent work.

I loved this one, and the title. I could relate well to getting to that place of acceptance in the way of seeing that person for the way they maybe really were....It promotes change, and although there is pain, change can be a good thing. Im sure you will find happiness again. Great poem!!!

I see so many poems from girls about men saying that they are completely fed up with them. Have young men become SO awful, how come? (I am well "past it" by the way at 50!) I'm sad that men appear to have become so inept...

Awful? No! Just hurtful, manipulative, sneaky, obbsessive, selfish...shall I go on? By the way, it's never the man's fault either... it's always us. Damn Women!
