Thoughts of Crimson Red

I'm halfway through the path of life
looking back, so far the view.
Tomorrow is the closest coming,
I dream such thoughts, I do.

Of fantasy, not one be writ
that matches feelings' hold.
Words can never escape within
expressing what's untold.

Stand before you naked, I
of fruitful hiding years.
Of seeking one who's ornaments
of want would ease my fears.

What fate belies this unwhole life?
Are left just downward years?
Or is it time for wings to fly
and dry up raining tears?

I wear my skin much prouder now.
It cloaks me wrinkled, not.
Thoughts appease me, tease me, please me,
to tranquilize the hot,

I image you, as you do me,
I ripen with each breath.
A lady once, feel sinful now.
Is this the path towards death?

My curfew calls, commands me so,
submission, how I dread.
My other half of what is whole
left thoughts of crimson red.

I stand at the crossroads of life
is it half over or well begun
I do not know but careworn strife
will see me spend my days in the sun.
I loved the juxtaposition of words that made it so familiar. brilliant.

I like to think that the future holds much promise for us, makes it easier to get through the day...lol. Great read!

Your poetry is exquisitvely beautiful, how have I missed these?
They are wonderful, all of them I've read so far, and I've been reading all of them!

Brian    aging isn't all that easy *s

Anabelle thank you,  I have so much in me for these 30 odd years of adulthood and they are all erupting  within the last year and a half...in poetry

I wonder sometimes why I was so hyper inside..all this wanting to come out I guess
