You’re just like an angel,
Drifting above the world
But not safe from its perversion
I can see you falling now,

I stand, drawn to my limits
Without recourse, no actions to take
I stand, only to watch you break
Perhaps I’ll cry, perhaps not
I warned you, but alas you ignored

It’s not fair, not life, not love,
A cruel joke to pretend so,
Even worse to believe so
I lift a hand in aid,
But my sanity bids me not to intervene,
But that voice, is just a whisper now

Its rends my soul to see you,
So broken, so much a fallen angel
So go ahead,
What ever makes you happy,
What ever makes you high.

I wrote this about my little sister.  She’s in a relationship that I’d rather her not be in.  But alas, it’s not my life.
I guess I can forego the big brother crap.  This must be why parents get so concerned about their children…
Well, * cracking knuckles * maybe this guy she’s seeing is more than the cannon fodder he appears, but if not…

Deranger, a well written poem. It is true that we all have to find things out for ourselves. I hope that your sister finds the truth.

I hope she sees the truth herself shortly.  What a hard position for you Deranger to see the truth and wanna help but instead you have to wait for her to see it , and all you can do until then is wait and remind her you love her...  Hope it works out for her..

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

So sad to hear the position you're in sometimes all we can do is wait to catch loved ones when they fall. Thanks for the poem.
Be well

This said so much, and how wonderful that you try to watch over your sister!! It is hard to let someone make what appears to be that inevitable mistake, but sometimes they really have to live it to learn it. Hope she is ok, and this was truly a heartfelt poem!!

This is lovely...remember, big brother, all little angels have to stumble on thier own...just be there when she falls.

Thank you everyone for your concern,

She is still in the relationship, as its has yet to sour.   Being a guy myself, I can boast at least a small understanding of how the male mind works…especially at 14.    My mother trusts me to play “monitor” them when she’s at work and he is over at our house.  But, I’m in an…uncomfortable position.  When I was younger, I made my sister promise that she’d not report my, uh “extracurricular” activities, in return I promised to do the same.  So, I’m really screwed…oh well, thank again.
