THAT WAY:

A misunderstanding clear as day
I never intended it this way
We see these things so differently
With heinsight, retrospectively

One by one, events ocurred
Yet, communications we misheard
Causing us to blindly go
Without establishing what we know

You don't know me or how I share
Love and trust for whom I care
The way I speak, the way I act
Shows only me, and that's a fact

I guess I thought you understood
That through all and over time we could
Remain trusting, caring, as friends should stay
But I guess you didn't see it that way.

Perception is an interesting thing, and how two people can view the same thing in such a different light. I liked this one!!

Perfect, Sylvia. Interesting how it happens that way, is it not? Love the way you expressed it.
