If you were to peel me away

Layer after layer,

Down to the naked core,

You would find only

Scar tissue.

For I was ripped out

Long, long ago.

Very to the point, and painful. I can relate.

Definite purveyor of pain...but well written too. And even scar tissue is part of the healing process.  We go on from there.

Good read.

True Kynder true!  But further in/down beyond the scar tissue is a loving heart/soul just waiting/longing for love..
The scars will heal, the soul will mend and love will someday be yours again.. *hugs*

This is so real. Why do I suddenly feel like an onion, peeling off layer upon layer. I have heard life is like an onion you peel it off layer by layer. Sometimes you cry. I hope you don't cry too often. Excellent poem.

You made me think about that song by Red Hot Chili Peppers called Scar tissue.
I believe we would all be unpleasant to look at if all the scars from our pain and sorrow stayed with us and healing didn't do its task...James
