Gods at War

The clouds contract
From ochre grey
To blind opaque
The dampness taps
At first and then

Deluge descends

And up in heaven
Prehistoric beasts
Growl like cornered thieves
Fire-branded for their deeds

And silent light extends
Its shrieking blaze
Its jagged claw
From high above
Down to the floor

Then shadows fade
While darkness spreads
Its negative white
Swallowing all
Within its sight

Wow, that seems like the most perfect, poetic description of a thunder storm I have ever seen.

Uta...Such a poetic description of...many things.  I would share this with my child...beats telling them the angels are bowling and God is taking pictures.  But then...I find other meanings here too.  Excellent.  Hardrock
