Almost Tears

Feed the cat, walk the dog, get the mail.
Write the cheque, sign on the line.
Death with dignity allowed a final caress.
Play dough, tinker toys, Lincoln logs.
Tools for rebuilding at my fingertips.
Patience, understanding, desire to forgive.
Thought salad, tossed aside,
as reality reaches in touching hair
on a pillow never thought to grace again.
Warm skin, sad eyes, quiver of lip,
as we taste morning cooling in the sun.
Finding the end to let it to go;
saying good-bye as we said hello.
But at least now both know,
almost tears on a dry face say it best.
With a warm touch laying to rest
indecision and doubt from the mind.
Streaks of white in Carolina Blue.
Clouded eyes in the haze above
watch my every languid move.
Silly putty replicates,
gentled souls know better.

~WoW. Your words put so many different images and thoughts into my head. I am especially diggin' these here lines...."Finding the end to let it to go; saying good-bye as we said hello."....although the entire poem was written so well. BTW,...I have always loved the name Evan. It's really nice. Be well E. *Peace.

*Almost Tears,...how cool is that? So Cool. Love the title.

Evan..this is simply awesome!!  Have you met my good friend, Rex Alford?  I tried to pick out a line to comment on...but it would be akin to picking a rose from the lovliest garden:  They are all just too beautiful.  The reference to Carolina Blue caught me by surprise...I'm a Tarheel.  Hardrock
