This is where I let my mind take
me on a bad pain day...

My recollections
All portray..
My childhood memories
In a harmonious way

Life was like a melody
Pure and sweet
With tones of contentment
The world at my feet

Each summer's day
All gift-wrapped in fun
Together we played..
Skimming rocks in the sun

Falling nighttime would bring
Campfire tales
Mystery lingered
Our faces turned pale

I can still feel the forces
As I re-trace my flight
The glow of
Mom's radiant smile..
As she kissed me goodnight

The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose...--Hada Bejar

Deb...such a beautiful trip down the trails of your childhood.  I recalled the times I sat around a campfire...and my mom's kiss.  Nice story...excellent poem.  Hardrock

Aah no finer memories than those precious childhood ones, campfires, jokes with the family, a cuddle with Dad, a good night kiss from Mom, each and every one special just like this poem.  Well done

This is so beautiful Deb, and even more so if it is the positive result of pain. How do you do that?

What a beautiful journey down yesterday's path.  Don't they just warm the heart?

Thank you everyone...and Lotharingia, I guess I have lived with pain so long, I try to find a way to channel it, and thinking back to the happiest of times helps, it really does. It doesn't cure it but my mind is better, and then somehow Im better.
