The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2000-07-29 01:29 PM

Not just another moonlit night
soft rays falling to the sand.
A special night, a night with him,
a trip to better lands.

We walked and talked and kissed a lot,
he chased me down the shore.
Then we ventured on the Coaster,
somthing I'd never done before.

Holding tightly to his arm,
my face in shoulders wide,
I was scared and thrilled and very cold.
Not sure about this ride.

When we came back to earth again
he had to laugh at me.
But said he knew I trusted him
to keep me safe and happy.

Some time later, we found a cave
and slipped inside that night.
until the dawn, we loved so well,
the whole world became right.

So soon the night was over,
the moon was gone again.
But till today, the bright full moon
will make me think of him..

(For R, many years later)

I can only hope that one day I can share what you have expressed so beautifully with someone as special as 'R' was to you...

Very pretty Sandra...lovely thoughts and memories.  Well done!

Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility.
