Since you left me, each slow passing moment
Is haunted with memory---
And my heart is nigh to breaking
For our dreams that couldn't be.
So return to me, and just for a moment,
Let us dream as we dreamed in the past---
And then...when the moment is over
My heart shall break at last.

Rex..I feel like I am cheating a little, because I have your book...I get to read all these FIRST!!  But your generosity in posting them here allows me to publicly acknowledge the beauty in all of them.  Thanks, Hardrock

Wren: The book is "Songs of Sorrow", by Rex E. Alford, ISBN: 0533130166 and is available on Amazon.com.  The Amazon site listing will tell you how the book came to be, give you a table of contents and some customer reviews.

Thanks and regards,

Rex

Is haunted with memory---

Yes, we share this Rex. I too know the ghosts. Reminded by this, I think I'll post a poem I posted as a reply to a friend who was helping me through a rough time a while back. Thank you for that memory. (LOL, I was being sarcastic! )
